When Mick Foley started out as a professional wrestler he was known as "Cactus Jack Manson". Throughout the years he would go by the names: Mick Foley, Cactus Jack Manson, Cactus Jack, Jack Foley, Jack Manson, Dude Love, and Mankind. But Cactus Jack is how he earned his legendary status as the man considered by most to be the most "hardcore" wreslter ever. With his brutal danger matches with FMW in Japan. And his winning the title "King of the Deathmatch" as well, the name "Cactus Jack" is synonimous with "hardcore". Cactus Jack wrestler all over and in many federations, suffering a huge list of injuries in his brutal matches. He even lost most of his ear when it was caught in the ring ropes in a match with Big Van Vader in WCW. In 1996 Mick left another federation, ECW for the WWF. He is now known as Mankind. A multiple personality who can also be seen as Dude Love and, yes, Cactus Jack. "Tonight pain is my friend, tonight fire is my friend, and tonight danger is the love of my pathetic life. Mick Foley entered the world wrestling federation as a character that was to be a deranged and emotionally scarred psychopath. Eventually ending up as a person suffering from multiple personality disorder, Mankind has made a huge impact in the WWF. With alteregoes Cactus Jack, and Dude Love emerging from time to time. Mankind has recently become extremely popular in the WWF. People love his antics with Mr. Socko, a sock puppet originally used to cheer up WWF owner, Vince McMahon that is not used as a glove when Mankind delivers the "mandible claw", his signature move. With Mankind's antics the WWF is never a boring place. Mankind continues to grow in popularity with Cactus Jack and Dude Love always lurking in the shadows ready to emerge when the time is right. When Mick Foley was a young man growing up in New York he and his brother shot home made movies in which Mick starred as a heart throb wreslter named Dude Love. Mick never got had much sucess with girls as a young man and used his wrestling videos as a way to live out his fantasies of being admired and respected. The tapes he made fell into the hands of trainer Dominic Denucci, who started mick on the path to becoming a wrestling star. After years of wrestling as Cactus Jack, and ending up in the WWF as Mankind, the world was exposed to Dude Love when when one of Mick's old tapes was aired on television. It was decided that Mick would wrestle as Dude Love. And no one(including Mick) knew what to expect when The Dude arrived.
